A tribute to the "One Holy Universal Apostolic Orthodox Armenian Church" thats the full name (I had to look it up ) :p Anyways the main song is from Levon Minassians album "Songs From A World Apart" called "Ter Voghormya". I mixed it with a cupple of other songs from the Armenian Religious Songs and Ensemble Akn Enjoy!

  4. Vaistinu Vaskrese, brate moj!
  5. Христос Воскресе LONG LIVE ORTHODOXY salute from Serbia КОСМЕТ ЈЕ СРЦЕ СРБИЈЕ
  6. The Slavs and Russians have developed their hymnology and choral chant. It is quite beautiful.
  7. Hello, first of all I would like to say that I deeply appreciate and respect Armenian culture, although I still know very little about it (I come from Spain). But I think there is polyphony in the music of the Georgian Church and in that of the Slavic countries. I have been to the Caves Monastery in Kiev, I have attended worship there, and the choir sang in a wonderful polyphony. This said, I must add that I find this video really moving. God bless Armenia!
  8. Je suis tout d'accord, mon ami. Bien à vous!
  9. When sung properly...musical, theological and dramatic expression...Armenian Liturgical music, although quite ancient, is superb. Armenian church music is the only music of Eastern orthodoxy that has achieved polyphonic mode. It has developed over the past century and a half. Like ALL music...it is beautiful and awe inspiring when sung correctly....and tragically unpleasant when ignoring the fundamental rules of musical and dramatic expression.
  10. SORRY...Council of Niceae...325 AD. Christianity became Armenia's official religion in 301 AD.
  11. being "diophysites"...or tending toward Nestorianism as a result of their holding to the questionable "tome of Leo". It is tragic that the original Catholic church cannot re-unite and settle its conflicts. Each of these groups share the precise SAME origin. They cannot and should not be called churchES. They are ONE holy catholic church...despite themselves...and they have no right to presume to "divide" the ONE church..each taking a "piece of the pie". This is the greatest blasphemy of all.
  12. they divest themselves of their universality and apostolic nature. In addition to its true "title" or "name"...the Church of Armenia is also theologically Nicene "orthodox". Some Armenians stupidly refuse to call themselves "orthodox" in fear of being confused with the "Chalcedonian" orthodox who subscribe to the questionable "tome of Leo". The Greeks, somewhat vindictively and politically, accuse the Armenians of being monophysite, while they, themselves, fall into the questionable arena of...
  13. ...who insisted that the Church of Armenia was NOT founded by the Apostles but rather by St. Gregory the Illuminator....hence called the church "Gregorian". There is no such thing as an "Armenian" church. There is only the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church OF Armenia. That is IN Armenia...and like the One HolyCatholic and Apostolic Church in ANY country...it has its own hierarchy. Although the Armenians try, like the Greeks, to make their church "ethnic"...it is nonsense. By doing so..
  14. The name of the Church is: One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church of Armenia. This is the name given by the Council of Nicaea in 301 AD to the ONE Christian Church in the world. "of Armenia" is like all of the Catholic Churches of the era...."of Greece", "of wherever". At that time they were all ONE. The Armenians have a very superficial knowledge of Christianity and call themselves "Armenian Church" ...or Armenian "Apostolic" Church. The "Apostolic" business was started by the Russians...
  15. Christianity is the Armenian's Identity!
  16. thank you, friend! I'm glad we have such great neighbors!
  17. Simply Wonderful . Greetings from Macedonia !

  22. nope, Armenians where the first officially adopted in 301. The Greek became Christian under the rule of the Romans. The Roman Empire itself did not officially adopt Christianity until 380 CE, under the Emperor Theodosis.
