- It's not about shredding, being a virtuoso, or burning across the fretboard to the point of of blood and fire. It's about playing music that you enjoy, you love, and that simply sounds good. If it's a complicated, shredomatic masterpiece, then great. If it's a simple power chord or octave progression mixed in with a bunch of other layers of music, that's just as great. It's music all the same, so it shouldn't matter. Or even in simpler terms: IF IT SOUNDS GOOD, PLAY IT.
