  1. someone didn't read Ligeti's instructions......it's supposed to take 16 minutes.....
  2. I've read/heard somewhere that organ builders hate this piece... now I can understand why... Otherwise I still love it.
  3. Very sonorous.
  4. Very sonorous.
  5. That's the most intelligent comment in this thread! It's absolutely a piece of atmosphere music and interesting to see what sounds you can create with an organ. I don't want to listen to it every day, but its a nice experiment.
  6. This is music is beautiful and was clearly made by someone who knows a great deal about manipulating sound. He just created what others would have made through synthesis.
  7. retarded talk
  8. What are you talking about? This is beautiful.
  9. Wow, how closed-minded folks can be! If you were expecting Bach, you had unrealistic expectations. That is not what the composer intended. I love it because it shows how incredibly powerful and versatile the pipe organ is. What amazing effects he gets from this instrument. I thought it is was really cool.
  10. I'm reading a lot of negative comments about this piece. I myself am an organist and I'm not the least bit "offended" by this. In fact I'm fascinated. I AM offended however when people have to post such negative comments about pieces like this. A piece doesn't have to have melody, etc to be considered music. Like a lot of Ligeti's music, I believe he tries to create an atmosphere. So if you're not comfortable calling this a piece of music, fine, call it a piece of atmosphere.
  11. The towel fling is funny.
  12. this is a very striking organ music.. I have long waited to see how to play this, since I only have audio recording of this piece.. and about the sheet music; I don't think the sheet music is easy to find, to read and to play..
  13. It's so sad to watch stuff like this...how people waste their lives.
  14. Who dare call that shit MUSIC ! That's an offense to the thousand talented composers that worked before Ligeti.
  15. :-P
  16. retarded unoriginal reply
  17. retarded comment
  18. retarded piece of music
  19. I hope that this video doesn't give the impression that was the whole piece! It was a very shortened version of which there was at least 3 minutes missing. Still its nice to see it played on a "real organ", as I was at live performance many years ago when it blew the organ's fuses! Right, we never got to hear it then.
  20. I listend to this at school today, I had a very good quality there - and I got really afraid when I heard the beginning!!!
  21. I think there is one pipe out of tune...one or two I am not shure now.
  22. I love how he used a towel to play the gigantic cluster at the beginning.
  23. suoer!!! pieber grüsse aus Kolumbien. Das besste war, ein Priester beim Werkeln zu sehen. Ein temperamentvoller Priester. Das ausschaltel war auch sehr lustig
