Jazz music saxophonist Marco Pignataro (http://www.marcopignataro.net) celebrates the release of his new jazz CD, Sofia's Heart, with performances in two cities - one in Boston and one in New York. The Boston jazz CD debut performance by the jazz saxophonist is on Thursday, September 29, 2011, at 7:30PM at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center (Arts Center Box Office, 41 Second Street, E. Cambridge, Massachusetts). Tickets are $15 Adults $13 for Multicultural Arts Center members, students, seniors. The New York performance celebrating Mr. Pignataro's jazz CD is at Small's Jazz Club, 183 West 10th Street, New York, http://www.SmallsJazzClub.com. Both performances feature Italian drum master Marcello Pellitteri, Kevin Harris on piano, flutist Matt Marvuglio and double bassist Ben Street. On this video - Marco performs "Grande Theodore" from the new album with Eddie Gomez, Mark Kramer, Billy Drummond, Matt Marvuglio. Marco Pignataro is a jazz saxophonist & composer who hails from Italy, and has performed extensively across Europe and the Americas at jazz festivals and international music venues, sharing the stage and conducting clinics with leading jazz music artists such as Eddie Gomez, Joanne Brackeen, Danilo Perez, George Garzone, John Patitucci, Kenwood Dennard, Antonio Sanchez, Ben Street, Billy Drummond, Billy Hart, Arturo Sandoval, Ray Vega, Paquito D'Rivera, Oscar Stagnaro, Clark Terry and Jon Faddis, among others. Together with Danilo Perez, the jazz saxophonist currently leads the Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI), the premiere jazz music program and center of musical creativity at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Mr. Pignataro is also a member of the Eddie Gomez Quintet as well as leader of the Marco Pignataro Jazzet. This jazz saxophonist maintains a very active performance and educational international schedule of concerts, recordings and clinics. His latest jazz CD was produced by jazz music legend Eddie Gomez and features Marco's compositions and arrangements. The album was recorded in Philadelphia with a group of leading jazz musicians including Eddie Gomez, Bill Drummond, Matt Marvuglio and pianist Mark Kramer supporting the jazz saxophonist.
