I can see where you coming from, and I'm unsure about the existence of a god as I believe we'll never find any evidence for or against it. But surely if life is a statistical impossibility, then surely a creator said life is also a statistical impossibility? or was it simply begotten as many people tell me- in which case, why couldn't life be simply begotten? How could a god that loves the entirety of creation unconditionally send anyone or anything to suffer an eternity of hell? Or are sinners just the steam boiling out with the impurities in the fire cauldron of creation? No need to answer, I know what you'll say. Just know this: you judged me. Assassin's Creed? Still a great quote. Or maybe people thousands of years ago just made things up so that others would stop asking questions with answers they couldn't give. You should read the bible to find it's sentiment, not evidence. You'll find a bigger, more beautiful world that way. Oh, and: people can 'believe they know,' but the lack of true empirical evidence for a creator makes it impossible for anyone to 'actually' know god exists. And, maybe it's possible that many of the 'classic masters,' of which you refer to, believed in a god because they didn't know any better. Wouldn't you say? Also, Einstein was on the fence about god, from what I understand. I too have looked to physics for evidence of divine action, however I've come to a different conclusion than you.
