- I'm Mexican, because my family originates from that country, and it is a part of me. I am proud of my Mexican heritage, and I love my culture, hence why I am Mexican. Now, I am American because I was born in America, and I have assimilated myself into the culture here because I was raised around Americans, as well as Mexicans. I am part of two worlds, and the fact that I live in America doesn't change the fact that I am a Mexican at heart. :) That's why people use those terms. :D
