Performance for Hip Hop Week,

  1. Don't let these pseudo musicians fool you. There's nothing wrong with an energetic performance - although playing sensitively is more appealing to the ear - but the issue here is his technique. It's unrefined, many of the sounds become somewhat dissonant and muddled in the middle. There are plenty of musicians that can play those rapid chord runs, but much of this guy's playing is reckless and untrained. He most likely taught himself, but to Jazz and Classical musicians, he's a chump.
  2. In short, epic fail jazz keyboardist.
  3. The only criticism I can make is that he's not that creative. Sure you can do lots of octaves and references (Rhapsody in Blue right there 3:30 lol, badly done though) but it's so disorganized. It's like some guy told him to treat the piano like an electric guitar, so this is the result. I'm sure he could play much better if the man just calmed down. This is certainly dissonant playing.
  4. Revised my opinion about this. Actually, I don't know if he ever took up formal lessons, but his playing's pretty good. Not many people can play octaves that fast, and it's okay if he makes mistakes because nonetheless that is actually very difficult. Of course most professionals can play like that and even better, but don't insult this guy because I bet most of you don't even play.

  8. I think this kid just wanted to hurry and finish his lesson so he could go out and play. Good where is the feeling here, out the window.

  15. Your technique is horrible - I suggest you stop playing immediately and get a teacher who will teach you how to play properly before you seriously hurt yourself.
