  7. Lol. Biggie was hardly a great lyricist... a great storyteller, sure.. but lyrically he wasnt GREAT. Same with Tupac.. he was never great with wordplay, but he painted a picture for you. Kendrick, Cole, Ab-Soul, Jay, Joe Budden, etc are all better lyricists than the people you named. (With the exception of Tribe, assuming you're talking about ATCQ) Drake and Wayne are also better artists than Chino & Mobb by a long shot in my opinion.

I think Chino XL's best album came out last year, and he's been doing it forever. The guys that came up in the 90's were superior, though. Doesn't mean 'new' rap is shit.

  15. No one ever said that hip hop was built in the late 80's and early 90's. All through those times, lyrics were much better from the guys that were producing them: Biggie, Pac, Chino XL, Mobb Deep, Tribe. No one in this time will ever match up to them. It's the truth. Hip Hop has never been about the lyrics because people overlook lyrics. Not just in hip hop, in all types of music. I'm not a hipster, but I can tell bad rap from good rap, and I think Wiz is just a piece of shit. That's all.
